For years we camped as a family in a six man tent. Two adults and four kids, plus dog and cat. We really enjoyed it and had plenty of room. When the tent died, we went to a pop up trailer. I still have it but it has seen better days. The new tents are quite different since the early 60s and seem to leak or you get wet, where we never had that problem before. So looking forward to your articles.

Thank you for contributing. You're right, tent materials have changed over the years. I'll be writing an article on that subject in the future.

Great information, and very timely. We are considering going camping as a family (2 kids), and your article helps make the process of planning simple and straight-forward. Working together as a family even in the planning stage makes it all the more enjoyable.

Thanks, Jeff!
