A way that hikers can help raise funds for Americans suffering from blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma while trekking though some famous destinations.

Hike For Discovery is an adventure fundraising program from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society that prepares both beginner and experienced hikers to add a new dimension to their outdoor activity. Program participants receive everything they need to be ready for this exceptional experience:

  • Professional training and coaching
  • Special clinics on such subjects as hiking techniques, nutrition, safety, first aid and trail equipment
  • Transportation, housing and social events during the fundraising event
  • One year membership in the American Hiking Society

In return, hikers will raise funds for cancer research and services for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Hikers will also get to meet a blood cancer survivor, personalizing their hike and putting a face on their fundraising efforts. There are four fantastic hike destinations; Rocky Mountain National Park, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and Maui. You can find out which destinations and dates are available in your area by entering your zip code on website the home page, filling out contact information and noting the locations and times of informational meetings near you.

This is an unique opportunity for hikers of all experience levels to help raise funds for blood cancer research and services and get in a great hike at the same time!
