Super Easy Camping Recipes

Fun to Make and Great to Eat!

Now that the weather is getting warmer, our minds are turning to camping trips! Here are some super delicious camp meals that are easy to make.

Tin Foil Dinner

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of Ground Chuck
  • 1 sm bag of Baby Carrots
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cajun Seasoning (optional)
  • 4 large Potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Butter or Margarine

How to Prepare: Use either the tin foil bags or create your own (if you make your own, be sure to double up the tin foil). Divide ground chuck into four even pieces and break up into four tin foil bags. Cut each potato into small pieces into each bag. Slice onion medium size pieces and separate into each bag. Add carrots and butter to each bag. Season to your hearts content! Cook on an open flame or throw it right into the coals. Takes about 45 minutes to an hour but it's well worth the wait.

Chicken Poppers

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. chicken tenders
  • 10 jalapeno (lg.)
  • 1 pk. bacon
  • foil

How to Prepare: Cut jalapeno in half. Clean. Place 1 chicken tender in half of jalepeno. Wrap with bacon. Prepare all and place onto foil and wrap. Cook on grill or fire grate for about about 20 minutes.

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 package dried Cheese Sauce Mix.
  • 1/3 C powdered skim milk
  • 1 6 oz. can or 1/2 C dehydrated tuna (about 1 C rehydrated).
  • 1/4 C dehydrated mushrooms.
  • 1/4 C dehydrated peas
  • 2 packages Ramen noodles (no flavor packet).
  • 1/2 C crushed chips

How to Prepare: Stir all ingredients except the noodles and chips into 2 C cold water. Bring to boil. Add the noodles (no flavor packet), making sure there is enough liquid to cover the noodles. (If not, add more water and return to boil). Cover pot, turn off stove and wait 5 minutes. Stir once. Wait 3 more minutes. Add chips.

Breakfast Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • frozen Orieda Hash Browns
  • 8 slices of bacon (crumbled).
  • Diced onions to taste
  • cut up fresh mushrooms

How to Prepare: Combine eggs with milk. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook hash browns, bacon, onions, and mushrooms in a large skillet. Cook until all ingredients are done. Pour egg mixture over top and continue to cook until eggs are done.

Blueberry Cornbread

Ingredients:

  • 1 C. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 C. sugar
  • 4 Tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C. milk
  • 1/4 C. shortening
  • 1/2 Tsp. salt
  • 1 C. fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 Tbs. flour
  • 1 Tbs. sugar

How to Prepare: Start by: Preheat dutch oven to 450. In large bowl combine: cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add an egg, milk and shortening. Mix till smooth. In small bowl, mix 1 Tbs. flour & 1 Tbs. sugar. Coat blueberries ...fold into batter grease 8x8x2 pan. Bake 20 minutes.

Cinnamon Smores

Ingredients:

  • 12 cinnamon graham crackers
  • 3/4 cup cocoa-flavored hazelnut spread
  • 24 marshmallows

How to Prepare: Break graham crackers in half. Cover one side of each square with the spread. Toast marshmallows over the fire. Lay two toasted marshmallows on the coated side of the graham square. Top with another square with coated side down. Repeat to make additional s'mores.

Jolly Water

Ingredients:

  • Jolly Rancher hard candy
  • Water

How to Prepare: Add 2 pieces of hard candy to your water bottle. Let the candy dissolve and mix with the water while you hike. Don't forget to treat or filter all water taken from lakes or streams.
