This is a simple camping meal that uses a single burner and one pot. It is a great camping recipe to use when traveling by RV or car. It takes just ten minutes to cook.

This extremely simple camping meal uses pre-packaged ingredients available in most supermarkets. It is perfect when travelling by car or RV.

This camping recipe requires just one burner and one pot.

The following quantities should serve three to four adults.

What Is Ravioli?

Ravioli is an Italian pasta in which a filling is enclosed in a small pasta parcel. The filling can be red meat, poultry, cheese. Or even a combination of these, and maybe mixed with vegetables. In fact, the pastry parcels could be filled with a range of foods.

Ingredients For Ravioli And Tomatoes Camping Meal

1) Pre-packaged ravioli. About a 500 gram pack should do for three to four adults.

The type to buy for this recipe is the pre-cooked style that is packaged in sealed pack making it perfect for travelling. It usually needs to be kept cold, so a car fridge is needed.

2) A can of processed tomatoes. About a 400 gram tin should suffice. A number of these style tins have herbs and spice added, so it is a personal preference on what type.

Both these ingredients can be found in most reasonable supermarkets.

Cooking Ravioli And Tomatoes On One Burner

First up, cook up the ravioli. It should be a simple matter of adding the ravioli to water in a pot and then bringing it to the boil over the single burner. The pack will have details on the quantities and times. For a 500 gram packet, this usually takes about 10 minutes.

Drain off the water, then add the tinned tomatoes. Stir over a low heat for a few minutes to warm the tomatoes.

And there is a simple, wholesome camping meal cooked on one burner, in about ten minutes.

Enhancements For Ravioli And Tomatoes Camping Recipe

Other garnishes, such as a chilli sauce, can be added to give this camping recipe it a bit more flavour and spice it up a bit.

A side dish of something like rice or couscous could be also cooked to bulk out the meal. This could be done and still just using the single burner.

The couscous just needs a bowl and some boiling water. This could be cooked first and put aside while the ravioli is cooking.

This simple recipe contains all the necessary food types:

  • Carbohydrate is in the pasta of the ravioli.
